EXPM6 ANOXIA CHAMBER

EXPM6 ANOXIA DISINFESTATIONS CHAMBERS FOR DOCUMENTS AND ARTIFACTS

Equipment Description
EXPM6 nitrogen chamber is a user-friendly pest control system designed and manufactured upon efficiency, ecology and hi-technology to be used in archival institutions, libraries and museums. This equipment is cost effective, helping to solve documents and objects’ preservation needs.

EXPM anoxia treatment system has been tested, improved and used in archives, libraries and museums to preserve books, documents, artifacts and other materials since 1997. It is a major tool regarding Pest Control's Management implementation.

Hardware
The disinfestations chamber recipient comprises: a rectangular box with a volume of 6 m3, made of stainless steel, its sides reinforced with carbon steel sections; a hinged door, reinforced with carbon steel sections.

Effectiveness
The EXPM6 disinfestations chamber eliminates insects no matter what their stage of development, using an ecological, non-toxic process. This process does not employ toxic or chemically aggressive products, and there is therefore no accumulation of such substances in the treated materials, allowing them to be handled immediately following treatment.

Controlled Parameters
Displays located on the surface of the chamber provide up-to-date information on the major parameters of the working of the system. Temperature, pressure and relative humidity sensors are located inside the chamber; the oxygen content control system comprises a small circulating pump that feeds the oxygen analyser.

The readings of these parameters are transmitted to a small central computer, which receives and analyses them, controlling the working of a system of electromagnetic valves that, in turn, control the pneumatic valves of the control and safety systems.
During the treatment period, the parameters are set to achieve insect eradication without interference on document’s properties.

Performance & Capacity
The chamber has the capacity of 6m3.
The infested objects remains in the chamber from 1 to 3 weeks to complete the treatment.
